Most of our small buses DO NOT require a CDL license. This allows your group greater flexibility for staff to transport passengers.

For a rental bus that exceeds a 15 - passenger capacity (including the driver), any driver who operates the bus during the rental term must have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Buses in our “Small Bus” category do not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

If the bus you are renting has air brakes, you will need an air brake endorsement of your CDL. If the bus requires a CDL you will need a passenger endorsement.

At Hudson Bus we pride ourselves in being up front with our customers about everything. There are no surprise fees or hidden costs during your rental process.

Insurance, fuel and the driver are provided by you the customer. A fuel charge of $4.00 per gallon would only be charged to you if the bus is not returned or picked-up at the same fuel level it was rented to the customer.

A $5.00 per day toll fee will be charged in addition to you daily rental rate.

The Rental Bus or Van is to be returned at the end of the rental period in good condition with normal wear and tear. We ask that the vehicle be returned in a clean, litter free condition. Vehicles not returned in this condition will be subject to a $100.00 interior/$100 exterior cleaning charge.

Any traffic violation citations will be billed back to renter at the total cost of the violation amount listed.

Simple! Once your rental is booked you will receive an email that you will need to forward to your insurance company and so that they can provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance. Hudson Bus must be listed a loss payee and additional insurer. If you are renting a non CDL you need $2,000,000 in coverage. If you are renting a CDL bus you will need $5,000,000 in coverage.

The minimum age for renting any of the buses or vans in our rental fleet is a minimum of 25 years old.

We require that all rentals are paid in full before they leave our facility.

First off, if the bus is damaged or is in need of maintenance please contact us ASAP and we will coordinate service and a replacement rental for you.

Delivery is $62.50 one way (Drop-Off of and Pick-Up) for destinations within 30 miles of our facility, $2.25 per mile thereafter.

Sales and rental tax are different and no one is exempt from Rental Tax.

We do not rent to anyone that is not representing a Church, School or an Organization.
